Today—

we’re going to make VoiceVista your own.

One of VoiceVista’s greatest strengths—

is that it can adapt to the way you travel.

No two people travel the same way.

Some people enjoy hearing lots of information.

Others prefer a quieter experience.

VoiceVista lets you decide.

Let’s begin with voices.

VoiceVista uses the voices already available on your iPhone.

Open the Settings tab.

Then choose—

Voice.

Here—

you can choose a different voice.

Or adjust the speaking rate.

If you’ve downloaded enhanced voices in iOS—

they’re available here too.

Next—

let’s look at distance units.

Some people naturally think in metres.

Others prefer feet.

Choose whichever unit feels most natural to you.

The easier the numbers are to understand—

the less you need to think about them while walking.

Now—

let’s talk about callouts.

VoiceVista can announce many kinds of information.

Roads.

Intersections.

Businesses.

Bus stops.

Parks.

And your own markers.

You don’t have to hear everything.

Open the Callouts Settings page.

Choose the categories—

that are useful to you.

For example—

if you’re walking through a busy shopping district—

you may decide—

to reduce business callouts.

Or—

if you’re learning a new neighborhood—

you might want to hear every intersection.

Remember—

your preferences can change.

You don’t need one configuration—

for every journey.

Markers can also be personalized.

You can rename them.

Add notes.

And organize places—

in ways that make sense to you.

Instead of—

Bus Stop.

You might call it—

Morning Bus Stop.

Or—

North Entrance.

Small changes like these—

make callouts more meaningful.

If you use VoiceOver—

there are a couple of settings worth checking.

VoiceOver hints—

can provide additional information—

about controls inside VoiceVista.

Audio Ducking—

is generally best left off—

so VoiceVista callouts remain easy to hear.

Don’t worry about finding the perfect settings—

on your first day.

The best approach—

is to make one small adjustment.

Go for a walk.

Listen.

Then adjust again—

if needed.

Over time—

VoiceVista becomes less like a generic app—

and more like a travel companion—

that matches the way you move through the world.
